Trees in the winter are still alive. They might carry some ice and they might be without leaves. This painting depicts a scene from my window last winter. The weather was colorless -- grey. There was ice here and there on the ground. The trees were 'naked' or, perhaps, they were showing their 'real face'. Interestingly, there were still leaves on the ground.
(In passim, I remember a disagreement among my labmates and me on whether black and white are colors or not. Of course, I was saying they are not colors :))
