Here it comes

Here it comes!
This painting follows the footsteps of the previous two: Light'14 and Walk the walk. Similar to them, it was completed at night under very dim light.
Enjoy!

Light'14

I started and completed this painting last night after 11pm. It is a little bit brighter (more yellowish and greenish) than it appears in the photo below. Enjoy!

Blue

I am sure you are wondering whether I took a break. Not really. I have been working on 3 paintings but couldn't complete any one of them. Now, I think, this one is ready to go.

The painting is very much related to several photos I took while I was wandering around Sile.

It's snowing Snow White

Because of the fact that many people liked my Snow and Trees painting, I decided to have another painting with the theme snow. Here is what I have now. Note that I couldn't wait the beautiful sunshine to take photos. I took them in my room in the late evening. So the photos may be distorted a bit.

I might add new photos tomorrow morning...

Red tree

So you like minimalism, she said. Not in linguistics, though, I replied.

Tiger in the dark

Another painting of mine. Again, I used one of the photos at National Geographic website as a model.

Snow and Trees

It finally snowed in Istanbul. So, as you might have guessed, I started working on a painting with regard to snow. Trees are wonderful when snowed, you know.

Recently, I have been going through some photos at the National Geographic website. This painting is very much influenced by a photo over there.

Enjoy!

#78 A path in the forest

Wow! I now have 78 paintings! "A path in the forest" is my first painting of 2012. (no, I haven't been to this place. I saw a photo in National Geographic's website then made this painting similar to that).

Seclusion

Let me say this, it was a wonderful day while I was working on this painting, Seclusion. I was listening to the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack, which is fantastic. Seclusion is neither related to the show nor the music, though.

When I started working on the composition, I was planning to have a very dark background, a black tree, a person sitting, and a fire. The fire was going to be the only light source with the exception of stars here and there. When the figures began to emerge, I wanted to receive Beril's ideas about it. Then, I showed it to her on gtalk and skype. She couldn't see the figures clearly. The tree, for instance, was so dark.

Yesterday night, then, I started working on the tree from scratch. I wish to have it luminous. I hope I could give that impression. Enjoy!

Here are some photos including close-ups.

ps. From my facebook status: "I have been listening to Battlestar Galactica soundtrack while painting called 'Seclusion'... loved it... photos will be uploaded tomorrow :P"

Trees

Some of you may have already realized that I like trees. My wife, Beril, recently shared a beautiful photo of sky with stars and trees. That photo provided me a base to work on. No, this painting is not a copy of the photo - you can check it here. It took me two days to complete Trees.

I think and I hope Beril likes this painting.

I am adding two photos of Trees. The second one is from a side angle to get rid of some reflections.

Bonsai

Apparently I had started a painting on the 15th of November. While I was unpacking, I realized that I didn't complete it. Here is its final version:

Under the tree

As I wrote here before, I had been working on two new paintings. I think I have completed one of them. Its name is 'under the tree'. I used one of my wife's photos I took in West Lafayette for this painting. I just showed it to her. She liked it. So, I am sharing it with you. (again, the quality of the photos is not good enough :)

Here is a close-up:

Ipod tree

I am currently playing with apps on itunes. I found drawcast, a painting application, that allows one to create paintings by touching an ipod/phone/pad screen. Here what I came up with (I couldn't find a way to get a digital copy yet):
