Re-union 6

Here is what I found after I came back to West Lafayette, IN.

I completed this painting after I received my PhD in 2009. Enjoy!

Original entry is here.

Reunion-4

This one is from 2009, too. The model was where we lived then.

Reunion-3

Here is what I found in my bag. The original entry is here from 2009. Beautiful clouds, I love their colors and formation. Two trees in the front with rich symbolism.

Reunion-2

I continue reunioning (yeah, it is a word, alright :).

This one is very special. Completed in 2009, it reflects hues of the same color, simplicity, a fantasy world, and rich symbolism. It seems dark but very colorful.

Oh, its name is Enchantment! Here is the original entry.

Reunion-1

As some of you know, I am back to West Lafayette, IN. I am going to stay here for a year. I feel more peaceful here.

I started painting here to get some calmness in my life or to have some distractions or to find a refuge. Last time I left this town in 2010, I had to leave so many paintings of mine. My wife took care of them and later brought many of them to me. Aylin took care of the rest. I thank both of them.

I felt bliss when I had them back. I am going to share some with you. ps. I bought new tools and just started painting again :)

Here is one I named Ege, which I completed in 2009:

Its original entry can be found here.

Gnome

We brought many souvenirs from Krakow, Poland. One of them was a gnome. I really liked it and wanted to have another one after we came back. So, I made this one by using a piece of balsam wood, which is relatively easy to carve and hard to give shape. It is a single piece. After I finished carving, I colored it with acrylic paint.

Deers

This painting recently joined our family :) Deers are incredibly beautiful animals. I plan to paint some more deers in the near future.

Cats 2

I don't know whether I am a cat person or a dog person. I liked them both when I was a kid. Nowadays my nasal allergies don't like them.
I wanted to make this painting as simple as possible. The frame on the wall served as a model. The white cat is kinda manga cat. The one in the chair is a sleeping beauty.

Dusk

I guess I am one of those lucky people who can enjoy looking at the sun, the moon, and the stars. Sunlight is always beautiful and, perhaps, peculiar at sunrise and sunset. This painting attempts to reflect upon one of those moments at a sunset.

Lady, Cat, and the Moon

I have been working on this painting for last two months. I don't remember how many times I have changed the composition and the colors.

Himura Kenshin (sold)

Himura Kenshin! A manga character! One of my best friends asked me to paint this for him. It is really hard to work on a manga drawing since the technique is reaaaally different. But, I think, I have accomplished this task. I hope you like it, my friend.

Tree of Life

As you have already guessed, I like trees. This is my imagination of the concept of the "tree of life". Maybe, one day, I can paint it upside down, who knows! :)

Beril

I needed to practice painting human figures. So, I kindly asked my wife. She said ok :) I certainly need more and more practice.

Enchantment

I don't know why but I really like this one.

Night, Turtle, Fairy, and the Moon

I adore the moonlight in this painting!

Night and Horse

I wanted to replicate one of Josephine Wall's fantastic paintings. After I started painting, I found it difficult to give all the details. I kept the center image from the original then let the scene emerge. I added some close-ups below:
