I needed to practice painting human figures. So, I kindly asked my wife. She said ok :) I certainly need more and more practice.
We went to a Halloween party. We were gypsies :)
I don't know why but I really like this one.
Can you paint anger?
I was so angry. I asked myself 'can you paint anger?'
I wanted to paint a room in details with furniture and with a large window. It was going to be a sunset. Then... While I was working on the sunset and all the colors, I loved it. Gradually, it became a new scene.
So, you like minimalism? :)
In this painting, I was working on the light and reflections on the windows and inside. I think I gave some depth to it :)
Here I am! But I am not showing you the other half of the painting :)
(8/23/2009) Ok! Here it is!
I wish I were there, right now!
Enjoy!
Here, mainly, I wanted to work on how to paint clouds, really large clouds. To give that impression, I needed to have some depth. I gave it by painting a large field underneath the clouds. I think I succeeded. But I didn't want to leave the painting 'empty'. So, I put several trees here and there. Of them, two are in the front. There is a pine-like tree that I like very much. It is not very tall but its top is unusually slanted. So, I painted one of the trees in the front (as if) leans toward the other one. I leave the rest to your imagination :)
Two more close-ups:

So, be it! I had a completely different idea when I started to do this painting. Whatever that was, I changed my mind in the middle of the process. Then, I stopped. I asked myself what I want to have around here. A small hill with ice on top said someone in my mind. There I started.
A few days later I realized that I missed the inland of the Aegean Sea (hence, the name 'Ege'). So, I let the images appear here and there: house tombs on a hillside (Necropolis), a small amphitheatre on another hillside, remanings of a road with columns, cliffs, etc.

I have finished working on this painting recently. It took me a while to come up with an idea. I started painting something else -- I don't remember right now. Its name came from -- yes, it echoes serenity but -- a movie called "Serenity", a continuation of a tv series, "Firefly". After I finished watching the series and the movie, I thought about the concept of serenity and came up with this painting. The painting and the movie do not have anything in common, except the name. Enjoy!

So, what I can say, I like sunsets! Although this is a 'product' of my imagination, there are more colorful and a way more beautiful sunsets in many days of our lives.
This is a birthday present for Arvind! I hope that he is taking good care of it :) I liked the details of this painting. Believe me, it was a challenge for me.
Very first painting. Thank you Inci for the photo.
